"A single scene, monotonous droning dialogue..."
I almost turned it off because it was so repetitive and boring, but just as I was reaching for the "Close" button something happened. The end definitely had a redeeming quality, but not enough to get the video past 5 stars.

It was very cute. :) I could totally relate to the first scene, because I hella used to do the same thing -- "Wait until I find a Save Point!" (>___<;)
Gonna check out your other animations now! (;^__^)b

Loved all the sound effects and the animation style. :) I was actually more entertained by the skating than the violence. :P More skating, please! Maybe a really kick-ass chase scene or something. :P Violence just seems so over-done here.
Anyway; very colorful, cool characters, and was entertained 100% of the time.
Author's Response:
Thanks.
You're not the only one who's said that :)
Which means I'll fix it.
Its SKATER v2, ist'n it :P
Thanks.

I liked the drawing style, the characters, and a lot of the jokes. Only thing that really seemed to get on my nerves no matter how hard I tried to ignore it was the mouth-syncing. It just seemed so off that I couldn't help but notice it.
Very cute though, loved all the little tangents she'd go on. :)

Oh dude, that was awesome. Totally not what I expected at all. Love how you turned that is normally innocent into something sinister and unknown. :) Not sure if a follow-up would be good, might be better just to leave it at this -- quite mysterious.

Hahaha. Didn't really laugh until the end. I liked it, totally reminded me of a Looney Tunes type of animation. Lots of gratuitous violence, well-placed sound effects, cartoony music, colorful characters, and exaggerated movements.
My favorite part was the caption below the caption on the box. :) Hope to see more from you.

"reminds me of Ren & Stimpy"
Wow man, your drawing style is incredible. It really did remind me in some respects of Ren & Stimpy, like MRP's buttox while he was flying and such.
Really detailed drawings -- loved the mouths/teeth, cyborg... Everything. :) 10/10, I hope to see another episode of this in the future. Quite trippy and strange.

OK, I normally don't give high scores to submissions like this but I thought this was quite cute and loved [the song all the way to the right].
It would have been even better if there was a way to change the general colors of the screen. Everything was quite purple, but in my mind I can imagine a button that changed the overall feel to orange, or blue, or red. Like, it would change the background to a shade of orange, and the spinning vortex thing under CJ's feet would also be a gradient of white to orange, instead of white to purple. :) Anyway, that's my vision, not yours, but would be a cool extra feature. ;)
Also, would be cool if you could see the name of the songs when switching, so we know what song we're listening to. This submission reminds me a lot of "the dancing sheep" that RealPlayer has or used to have. It was a visualization of a sheep that would dance to the music, and you could change its hat, glasses, and wool to your liking.
Anyway, I'm going off, just some things to consider. :) Good job, hope to see another version of this.
Author's Response:
Thank you for the suggestion for changing the colour scheme. and I may add more custom features to the dancer in the sequel.

"please fix the hard-to-read text boxes"
Sorry man, I really tried to enjoy this, but having to constantly aim at the tiny purple box of text to proceed with the cartoon got irritating after a while. Every time someone talked I'd have to look around the screen to find the text box and then click it or I'd have to sit there.
Not only that, but the text was black, on top of a semi-transparent purple background, which made it incredibly hard to read. (check the definition of 'contrast') Normally text should be readable on a background, such as black on white, so that the reader can see it without hurting their eyes.
Perhaps just make the entire screen clickable, instead of just the text box? Or, better yet, get rid of the clicking entirely.
Decent story though.
Author's Response:
Ok I will edit that right now

Would be nice if you just showed us version 2.0 instead of 1.0. :P This reminds me of the old Asteroids game on the Atari.
The only problem (besides all the things you said it was missing in your author comments) was the controls. I'd suggest that "W" should make the ship move in the direction that the gun is facing, because I kept hitting "W" hoping it would send me in the direction the gun was facing but I ended up going a different way. :P So used to mouse+keyboard FPS/adv game movement I guess.
Author's Response:
Sorry about the faults, By the way W moves the ship upward, A left, D right, and S down.
P.S. I haven't yet made 2.0, but thank you for your criticism. I'll try to put in an alternate movement mode in 2.0. (This is not a promise as I am not that good a programmer, but should make it to at least 3.0)
